Come have a drink and learn about archaeology with us! Archaeology on Tap is an informal event designed to allow people to discuss interesting archaeological topics while socializing. The evening will consist of a short presentation followed by some Q&A with time to socialize.
When: Wednesday, April 6th at 8:00pm
Where: Cornwall’s Pub, 654 Beacon St, Boston, MA 02215
Long before Harpoon and Samuel Adams opened their taps, the people of ancient Mesopotamia were using barley to brew beer.
Our speaker will be Dr. Tate Paulette, Mesopotamian archaeologist and Postdoctoral Fellow at the Joukowsky Institute for Archaeology and the Ancient World at Brown University. Dr. Paulette is part of an ongoing, collaborative effort to recreate Sumerian beer with the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago and Great Lakes Brewing Company. He has conducted archaeological fieldwork in Syria, Egypt, Turkey, Cyprus, Scotland, and the United States.
